The wrong way Politics (understanding in the African way)

Politics, one of the most difficult things in this world. It has built nations as well as destroyed nations. It all sums up to individuals who venture in it, who in the long run end up being solo in the process of control and governance. Ignorance has played a major role to blind the followers and the supporters as well. We learn each day from mistakes we make and the experiences we have. It’s a shamming that we normally learn from the worst. Power is sweet yet sour, it comes with so much arrogance and trusting the politicians becomes hard. For the ones who make them popular and vote for them this is directed to you, read and understand what levels politics can destroy us or build us.

Reason to politics:
There are many reasons why an individual goes political and that’s one thing that we will never know until he/she is power. The reasons most of the times are:
· Political revenge as well as to settle scores.
· Wealth creation.
· Authority that is unstoppable
· Power over every thing on the land.
· Unequal distribution of resources
· Help the common citizens.

These are six main reasons; obviously there are other “stupid” reasons. Let’s give a thot on the six reasons, first without forgetting we have never benefited from politics, the common man. Rarely is it point six a factor to the leaders we have and the ones in the pipe line to become the next leaders. Why is that, there can never be new persons who can move crowds and win the hearts of the nations? Why flock around the common politicians? That’s the question readers. Let’s have a review of the points noted:

Political revenge

The political circle is always surrounded with the same persons and there is always need to payback the wrong done sometime back, it makes me wonder why the revenge? Do we have to do that at the expense of the nation? For instance In America George Bush Snr in power then come Bill Clinton, after which George Bush Jnr comes in then Hillary Clinton want to be the next president. Why do we let this happen to us why particular families are the ones to be at the highest office? It has become a family affair, having cousins in power as well as brothers, nephews then we form a government, what will they discuss family or assist the country? We blame the ones power but we fail big time. It falls to another family in parliament and all they will do is revenge, terms come and go and there is nothing done for the nation. They tend to settle scores than help the nation. There are several examples in this world. For instance in Kenya, the founding father the late Mzee Kenyatta, then the son so many years latter wants to be president. The constituencies are run by families far across the country. From Nyanza to the coast provinces. It becomes a monarchial system in Kenya. We complain and make analysis all the time over things we instill in us. We are past the pass it on power system we need to think and valuate our leaders and choose the best fitted. It may be hard to know who’s good but let’s take time to pick good leaders.

Wealth creation

In Africa this is a major problem. The chosen leaders tend to forget who voted for him and all they do is become wealthy. Things like corruption and salary hikes is all drawn to become wealthier. We have no systems in place to assist in wealth distribution and to assist on leaders pays, so they are there own bosses and do all they wish. There are several persons never had so much but they were elected by the fact that he surfed so much and he or she will make a difference. But things turn round and nothing is done. For instance Mobutu Seseko, once a poor man and when in power was one of the richest men in Africa. Our MPs: for instance Raphael Wanjala a former MP to the dreaded flooded region in Kenya western province, was once an average Kenyan but things changed once was in power, became a wealthy force built himself a home and was no more to that level he was in. nothing good done for the home area. Wealth has been a drive force for political ambition and we the common man suffer in the long run
A successful security and risk management strategy understands the risk profile of people, technology and processes across the entire enterprise. The question is who should we vote for that rich man or the poor man? They can’t be trusted. The answer is the constitution that protects the common man and not the rich man’s property.

Authority that is unstoppable

Some one when in power, there is comfort and you create conditions for several things around you. Authority is good and a bad thing as well. Most of the time it’s used wrongly by the leaders we elect. The constitution can be the only way out to trim this uninterrupted power. The problem with most African states they uplifted the colonial government, which was biased and was meant to protect the rich man. What makes it worse is the fact that we don’t know so much about it and in the long run we become prisoners to the constitution. It has taken so long to actually know what’s on the constitution and what’s right and wrong. The constitution of several African countries has given the presidents power to all that they wish to do. For instance the president of Uganda, he can actually alter the constitution to his suitability. Look at Kenya, the constitution can be interpreted to several ways and still be right and this makes the president extremely powerful. This power has destroyed the country for it has bee used wrongly. The feeling of being above the law becomes so thrilling to a level it does make one feel like being there at the top office someday. This has commonly been done by the ones who have wrong things to hide or intend to do wrong and hide. All in all its still not a good thing for the common man. This can go hand in hand with divine power over everything on land.

Unequal distribution of resources

We give promises to create small heavens on earth, in the name of developments and do it for all. At this age there are areas in Africa where there is no electricity, water and proper roads. We end up having so many countries in one. The development is done on ethic lines and isolation is drawn from that. The leaders tend to base the development schemes on the ones who supported him, and ignore the rest who played no role in support. We end up with unequal development. In our minds we are helping those who pushed us to power but we are depriving the country that forms the wider place. For instance in Kenya, central province is too developed than the rest of the country, with good roads, and all. Get to northeastern province and upper rift valley province there is another world there. They don’t have what the other brothers have from central. The division is big and the country does not move away from the pit of failure. Our leaders don’t have proper programs leave alone plans that will distribute all we need evenly. They are still the same leaders who we want to recycle every time to parliament.
It’s so unfortunate for us in Africa.

Help the common citizens.

This the main reason to be in leadership yet it’s the least in the agenda for the leaders we have had in the past so there is so little to say under this. Well we are promised “goodies” and made to believe in them, and we fail each time and believe in them. They fail us and still make the promises and fail. It’s more of a cycle that keeps on going round and round. I come to one thing, the constitution is designed in away that it makes these person break the promises made and do it repeatedly. We humans we are week to sweet talk and this come in as a means of our urge to goodness and better life. The politicians have taken advantage of this state we are in. in the long run there is no genuine leader. We want leadership that can be trusted and actually work. It leaves this to us common man. Let’s put what we want on the table and think over it, valuate it and see who can achieve that, drive it to the end point and ensure that we all leave safe and fine. With out the constitution there is no direction and with no direction no hope and recurring problems. We have been failed by our own people. Been in power and forgot all the things they promise. The common man woke up so early one morning and voted, as instructed, practiced democracy but what comes after which, no democracy and no promises made. We remain at the same state for another 5 years and when we can do something then it fails again, because the same persons who did worse are back in parliament. We need better and more than just fight for survival.
